It has come to my attention that incorrect rumours are circulating amongst FITASC and sporting shooters that Lakenheath (Pete Usher) cancelled the originally planned 2009 Krieghoff FITASC Championship.
 
The facts are, due to lack of entry and looking at a speculative shoot shortfall, Alan Rhone cancelled the shoot.
 
I looked at ways to reformat and salvage the shoot. I reformatted the shoot as 200 targets shot over two days, run old style. Krieghoff were still sponsoring the shoot to the tune of £3,000 but Lakenheath would now run and administer the event.
 
Unfortunately Alan and I could not agree the shoot format/administration of the revised shoot and Alan Rhone with Krieghoff withdrew their sponsorship of the reformatted shoot.
 
With many shooters having non refundable travel and hotel booked, and Lakenheath advertised as closed to accommodate the Krieghoff FITASC on the 2nd & 3rd of May, John Dyson and I decided to run the shoot as a UK Open FITASC with the very generous support of Hull Cartridge, Pro-Matic Traps, Clay Pigeon Company and LaCrosse.
 
I hope this clears up any confusion being circulated.
