Welcome to the Lakenheath Clay Target Centre Muzzle Loaders home page
Now fully established the Lakenheath Muzzle Loaders are pleased to announce that the Group have now been accepted as a new branch of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain (MLAGB), the governing body of muzzle loading shooting in the UK.
The regular monthly Sunday sporting shoots are proving to be a great success with increasing numbers of muzzle loading enthusiasts taking part. The superb facilities at Lakenheath Clay Target Centre have contributed enormously to the continuing success of the Group and have made it one of the best venues in the country for muzzle loading clay shooting. This group welcomes both experienced muzzle loading shotgunners and newcomers; both men and ladies to the Sunday shoots. If you haven't shot one of these guns before, come along and have a try! Although original guns may be up to 200 years old you will be amazed at how well they handle and perform. The group will have monthly Sunday morning shoots at Lakenheath CTC and will host competitions in Sporting, Skeet and DTL.
The dates are shown on this page, and they are also shown in Practice shooting dates with the background highlighted in grey.
This web site will explain about the guns, their history, how to get started, tips on getting the best performance from them, and the care and maintenance of your gun.
Great Britain has been the most prolific producer of smooth bore sporting guns over the past 200 years or so. Sadly this is no longer the case. We are fortunate in this country to still have a supply of muzzle loading guns of good shooting condition. The pleasure of owning, researching the history and shooting these old guns with other like minded individuals is wonderful. Warning!
Shooting Muzzle loaders is great fun for
both males and females of all ages,
and very addictive! |
